will Michael Owen stay?
By: j | December 19th, 2008I’m not sure how he has orchestrated but after doing everything possible to put his character into question when he first took over the reigns of Newcastle, Joe Kinnear has very quickly endeared himself to the Newcastle faithful, myself included.
Quite obviously one of his most challenging tasks is not only helping push the club to safety and beyond but also convincing Michael Owen his future is with Newcastle. While media reports have bantered about future, whether a January transfer option is in the offing or a free move in the summer, many have assumed his move inevitable.
Joe Kinnear, grit and a morsel of brimstone is working diligently and per the BBC notes that he is optimistic the Englander striker will continue on with the club.
Joe Kinnear said of him after a meeting:
“I am more optimistic now having spent that time talking to him. We’ll certainly find out, I would think, in the next two or three days.”
