Toon 5 Mackems 1 – Hahahahaha!
By: Aidan | October 31st, 2010
Well what can I say about that one? My voice has gone a little funny from all the shouting (and laughing) as Newcastle thrashed the great unwashed from down the road 5-1 today.
A Kevin Nolan hat-trick, and two from Shola Ameobi did the damage on the score sheet in a scoreline that didn’t flatter us at all. Sunderland had begun fairly well but a great headre from Andy Carroll and a good shot from Joey Barton were just about saved giving warning of what was to come. Moments later Kevin Nolan got the first and from then on it was all Newcastle and by half-time we were 3-0 up and cruising.
Titus Bramble got himself sent-off early in the second half, much to the amusement of the majority of St James’ Park, and that was the cue for many of the mackems to head for the exits.
Many more left when Shola made it 4-0 after a great effort from Andy Carroll and yet more left when Nolan made it 5, meaning that very few were there to see Darren bent get a consolation in stoppage time.
Prior to the match I’d have been happy with a point, since Sunderland hadn’t been doing so badly of late, but today they simply fell apart as Newcastle were as dominant as they’d been in the second half at West Ham last week.
Sunderland were lucky to not lose more than Bramble to a red with some frustration showing in some of their tackles, serial red-card man Lee Cattermole was subbed off before he got sent-off. Steve Bruce suffered plenty of abuse from the stands, while Chris Hughton’s reputation grows and his name was chanted by 50,000 Toon fans.
At the end of the day it’s just three points, but it will make going in to work tomorrow rather more pleasant!

too be fair i think you will still go down, u beat a young side who will learn and no doubt tonk you next time. But i do hope you come back up the following season

-

Agent Bruce, take a bow son, great tactics

-

Against a young side…. lol so our players were old were they – Carroll 21, Enrique 21, Simpson 23, Krul 22, Tiote 24, Ranger 19, so our side wasn’t exactly that old on average but then again, I suppose the muckems need some sort of excuse for that humiliating defeat by the mighty Toon.. lol get use to it, we’re the Top Dogs of the NE & you only borrowed that title while we weren’t in the PL< now we're back, you're the one's who'll need to play second fiddle & are more likely to get relegated after not winning an away game so far this season.. lol

We beat you 5-1 and you think we are going down ??? If thats the case your lot will be in freefall. Typical biased SMB response.

er i am not a sunderland fan u stupid $”^$. its a a response to ur poor form so far. lump it forward is a tactic for poor sides and sometimes it works, like today

Dear, or dear. Ever heard of losing gracefully? I know it must be tough after seeing your side completely and utterly dominated/humiliated today, but try not to be so bitter.
Also, there is nothing more satisfying then a rival fans pretending not to support his club out of sheer embarrassment
As for the reason of defeat being the age of the squad, total poppycock! Your side lost because you have a shocking midfield with zero passing ability and rely on ONE striker. Simples. Get your coat.

-

Looks like Michael supports west ham…haha

-

As a neutral I wasn’t expecting that at all, went out to town, checked Eurosport – 1-0, thought that it’ll surely be one all by the time I go back, checked again on way back – 3-0! Got home – switched the telly on, 4-0, what the hell? :> 5-1 and a great spectacle!

-

our “poor form” that has us 7th in the league?
last i checked, that’s a european place, pal.
hardly call that “poor form”

-

Michael: the great unwashed have managed to score 8 goals from bent, 1 from gyan and two from og. I heard some tit on the legends saying newcastle only win when when caroll scores, did he score at Everton? Did he score today, we have hit the net more in just two games at St James Villa and Mackems tahn your crap have managed all season. Wake and realise if you cant score you dont win. Your midfield is non existent, and defence was nowhere to be found today. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahaha Not only are your team crap but you are a fool for thinking otherwise. 5-1 Go weep.

-

And a note that is all you had lump it forward for bent, Time after time, but you really were crap. look on other blogs, anti bruce talk, anti bruce tactics, ie 4-5-1, and general complaining. Even Bruce said you were crap. For once that man speaks sense.

-

Hi i am a neutral i actually support the mighty southend united but live in durham wifes family support is split between both, must say very shocked by that but congrats to the mags, sunderland lost because bruce played 4-5-1 negative.Sunderlands best two players are gyan and bent and he plays one of them and the worst one at that.If he had sprung the suprise of 4-4-2 bent gyan up front it may of been a better closer game.

great performance – and i sincerely hope chris hughton gets the time he deserves – newcastle need stability and continuity, the wife is a geordie so follow them regularly! visit http://www.premiershippassions.info for latest premiership blogs incl weekend review
