PSV match tonight
By: j | August 6th, 2008Newcastle is getting ready to face PSV at St. James’ Park in a quality run-out tonight. Like Newcastle, PSV is the walking wounded this pre-season and they may have a number of important absences. However they’ve performed quite well against Sporting in Portugal this past weekend and it offers Newcastle a superb test.
While no injury reports have been released (subtle hint to club), Michael Owen is not expected to play (mumps, calf strain, scurvy - you choose this weeks excuse) but Jonás Gutiérrez has been active in practice and this will be a great opportunity for Danny Guthrie and James Milner to get valuable playing time against a top-flight club.
I will be reporting on the match as it starts.
