Pablo Aimer saga ends

I had been waiting on the clubs formal announcement and finally word comes in that Pablo Aimar has committed to Benfica, ending Kevin Keegan’s attempt to bring in the Argentine midfielder. The contract is said to be four years in length with a transfer fee reputedly in the €6.5m range.

    If Jonas won’t have problems with his contract, I think it’s better for Newcastle that Aimar doesn’t arrive. With the speed and the aggressive style of the Premier league, he would have been injured too much.

    I like Aimar, he could have been a fantastic player without all his injuries. But the truth is that Jonas is better than him right now, and they play more or less at the same position.
