Kazenga LuaLua is ready
By: j | January 22nd, 2009
With each match Kazenga LuaLua continues to impress and with his move up from the reserves is imminent. Since joining the academy in 2005, the now eighteen year-old has emerged as aggressive attacker with an eye towards the goal. Following the reverse sides victory over Sunderland’s reserves, he spoke of being hopeful for a call-up:
“All I can do is try my best in training and in the reserve team.
“You always try to keep on impressing and I hope to get my chance soon.
“I’d love to be on the bus for that game.
“I know Nicky and Danny can’t play in that game and I hope that the game at Man City is my chance.
“It’s a great stadium and there are some good players there.
“They have been spending money, but I think that Newcastle can go there and get a result and I want to be part of that.”
Of the victory over Sunderland, he said:
“We’re all happy to beat Sunderland – you are at any level to win a derby.
“To do it away from home is brilliant for us, so we were all really happy in the dressing room afterwards.
“I live in the city and I know how important it is to beat Sunderland.
“Before the game Richard (Money) didn’t need to tell us we needed to win because we all knew.
“It is bad if you lose especially if you live in Newcastle, everybody wants you to beat Sunderland.
“When the first team lost against them in the early part of the season, I knew how bad it was even though I was out with an injury.”
