“It would be a privilege and an honour”
By: j | September 9th, 2008In a very straight forward comment, the legendary Zico, who most recently managed Fenerbahçe refers to the Newcastle position in the Daily Mirror:
“The Newcastle job is one that I would be very interested in taking. It would be a privilege and an honour.” He further went on to comment that is used to working within situations such as Newcastle where you have a technical director although the didn’t comment of whether he had experience with self-serving megalomanic.
In other gossip and I am stressing gossip as I cannot substantiate it, Gus Poyet is reputedly ironing out details to leave Tottenham and sign-on as manager. This conflicts with his comments on the club web-site and BBC:
“It’s very clear that it’s nothing at all.”
“I’m very happy here. This is just speculation and it’s all too easy because of my relationship with Dennis Wise. It’s nothing to worry about.”

Steven - thank you for adding your comment. Quite seriously I think Newcastle is in a tough position in finding a manager given the set-up. Who do you think should get the position?
