Rumours are heating up that gifted Monterrey Striker Humberto Suazo is on the negotiation list.
After four seasons split at Audax Italiano and Colo-Colo in Chile, where he netted a stunning 110 goals in 137 matches, Humberto joined former Mexico Manager Ricardo Lavolpe at Monterrey of the Primera División de México last season. While his start was slow with the Rayados, his play blossomed in the latter part of the season including a stunning four goal against Veracruz and finished with 19 goals in 31 matches.

This is exactly the kind of player we should be pursuing. National teams starters from the new world seem to be a great asset that we rarely consider (Solano and a handful of others notwithstanding).
Roque Santa Cruz was a no-brainer, and anybody could have told you that before he was signed by Blackburn, and yet so many teams weren’t interested.
In my opinion, looking in this direction is the type of direction the team should be taking in terms of scouting, and I think the market is such that you can still get good value for the money.

Humberto or “Chupete” is a pure predator and while other parts of his game are put aside, he consistently puts the ball in the net.
Oh and the stripes - well, isn’t that the same for all of us? Slimming I hear - LOL…couldn’t resist.

This guy is the real deal! I’ve seen him in a lot of matches and am still surprised he is not playing in a big team in Europe…
