Habib Beye injury
By: j | December 26th, 2008The Magpie injury list ahead of Sundays clash against Liverpool is a long one and includes new additions Mark Viduka who suffered a groin injury in the Wigan match and José Enrique who was injured in the warm-up.
With Mark Viduka’s situation, it is very clear that the Aussie international fitness is less than desired and in the rush to return from his Achilles injury he has lacked jumped the gun a bit. With his recovery both parties would be best served to improve his work threshold before getting out into match situations, lest they risk injury again.
However the greatest concern is for Habib Beye who was stretchered off seven minutes before the break after being butchered by Lee Cattermole in a tackle that surely was a red-card. The Senegalese international was stretchered off and while the extent of the injury has yet to be confirmed he is definitely out for Sunday’s match.
