good luck Andy

By: j | July 12th, 2008

With the UEFA U19 Euros about to enter the final stage I wanted to point out to everyone to pay careful attention to our Andy Carroll. Andy is part of the powerful group of England’s Strikers that include Sone Aluko (Birmingham City), Fabian Brandy (Swansea City on loan from Man Utd), Tope Obadeyi (Bolton) and the talentedWest Ham protégé Freddie Sears. This is a tremendous young squad and along with the U21 squad, supporters of England have good reason to be optimistic of the next generation of players.

At 1.91m Andy is an imposing target at Striker and very capable in the air as well as a threat to score with either foot. While there has been some chatter of other clubs interest in him, I’m hopeful to see him to continue to develop and mature under Kevin Keegan. This is an extremely important tournament for his and a great opportunity to make his presence known. I will be posting relevant match reviews and scouting reports.
