Gökhan Inler offer coming?

After much deliberation, it appears Newcastle is about to make an offer for the twenty-four year old Midfielder Gökhan Inler shortly. During the recent Euros, Gökhan demonstrated a keen awareness on the pitch with a superb work-rate, naturally impressing Kevin Keegan. The presence of Gökhan, who played for Udinese of Serie A and has fifteen caps for his native Switzerland, could be critically important for the Magpies midfield that is looking a trace undermanned. This situation could worsen should they lose Emre Belözoğlu to Fenerbahçe. Late advances to Steve Sidwell appear to have fallen short and the situation around Joey Barton’s imprisonment and whether he’ll ever play for the club seems murky at best.

The Emre deal has been put on the blocks. While they apparently agreed on terms the deal has since been put on hold. Thanks for joining in!
