“Eight buyers”
By: j | October 2nd, 2008Per the BBC, Newcastle’s interim manager Joe Kinnear revealed Mike Ashley is in discussions with eight prospective buyers of the club.
“I know for a fact Mike is talking to eight consortiums about the club.”
“I don’t know the outcome of those. I haven’t got a timescale on it, so I don’t really know what the outcome is.”
“As for who they are, what they are and when it will happen, there is no timescale on it.”
Mike Ashley is understood to have dropped the asking price of the club to as low as £280m from £450m.

good thing the standard blogger transfer fee applies in club sales – lol
Seriously I think his pricing is all off and all anyone has to do is look at Sports Direct Financial Statements and current market cap to see that price can drop if he’s pressured.

The longer he waits, the worse it’s going to get. No one’s going to pay that kind of money for a team about to be relegated.
