Blackburn match preview
By: j | September 25th, 2008While a complete mutiny has been avoided I question how focused the club can be with the much of the media focusing on how Mike Ashley looking to get his name off the deed. Whether the “wheels have come off” or any other cliche that seems to be used on a daily basis, the situation at St. James’ Park is dire. As Blackburn comes to town the need for a concentrated disciplined performance is important to stem the tides of discourse.

Things have not been so rosy for Blackburn as well. After a respectable start, they collapsed defensively giving up eight goals in two truly miserable matches. They have a solid attacked led by Roque Santa Cruz with extensive support and can definitely pose a problem if their confidence builds. I suspect they are looking at this match as a perfect opportunity for them to gain points on the table with a very opportune time to visit St. James’. The leadership of Michael Owen, will rarely noted, has been simply outstanding as he has done a superb job holding the group together in a extremely difficult situation. The club has yet to report any injuries issues and we can expect a lineup similar as in the League Cup.
I will report on the match Monday morning. I apologize for the delay but I am off to my own matches and will likely be unable to properly review and post till that that. I thank you for your patience in this.
