However, it is believed that West Ham will only be willing to pay a fee of around two million for a player who’s had more than his fair share of injury problems during his eight year spell on tyneside. The deal could prove to be a great bit of business for Hammers boss Alan Curbishley should Dyer stay injury free and recapture his best form. Though whether the offer will be acceptable to United remains to be seen.

Something must be in the water or the air, as Newcastle is making another huge move, in an effort to bolster their roster. Sam Allardyce is proving himself to be a very proactive manager, as he is making numerous moves towards signing big name players. It is this kind of action that Newcastle has been missing and will definitely prove to be an asset when the Premiership starts up again.

Thus, it is with great excitement to point out that the Mags are now pursuing PSG defender David Rozehnal. The 26 year old Czech defender has stated that he is very excited about Newcastle’s push for him and would love to join the team. According to BBC Sport,

Czech Republic defender David Rozehnal is keen for a move to Newcastle United, according to his representatives.

The 26-year-old’s club Paris St Germain have yet to hold direct talks with the Magpies, having already rejected a £2.7m bid from Borussia Dortmund.

“David would love to play for Newcastle,” Sport Invest spokesman Eliot Vantil told BBC Sport.

Though not a done deal, it would seem that the Mags are very close to signing him and Allardyce has made a strong push to ensure that Rozehnal will be playing for him next season. Fansfc were quoted as stating,

Magpies boss Sam Allardyce is eager to land the 26-year-old as he looks to rebuild his back four, and has offered the French club a fee of £3.3million.

Rozehnal has been a key member of the PSG back four for the past two years, and Allardyce believes he can add some much needed stability to his back line at St James’ Park.

So what do you guys think about the various deals Allardyce has making. Are we going in the right direction? As with the other posts, more information to come.

NEWCASTLE United are weighing up a move to scupper Mark Hughes’ bid to sign striker Shabani Nonda.

Reports on Tyneside suggest new Toon manager Sam Allardyce is keen to recruit the DR Congo international, who spent last season on loan at Ewood Park.

United were keeping tabs on Nonda last season under Glenn Roeder and, although Allardyce will have his own ideas in the transfer market, the player is still in the Magpies’ sights.

A source close to the club said: “Nonda would offer some physical presence and strength.”

Newcastle will be fighting with AS Roma and the Rovers for Nonda, who would be a great addition to the squad. It would seem that the current asking price is 2 million pounds. More to come as information because available.

Well then, now that I am back from my job interviews, dripping in sweat from the lack of air conditioning in my car I can start to post again. I must say that it has been quite a pleasure starting up this blog, there is more information on the internet and the community itself is quite large. Its not like doing Chivas USA, so this is definitely a shock for me.

But do not worry the shock will wear off in soon time giving way to a continued barrage of posts, insight and other things. So enough of my problems let us get into the biggest news story of the day: Joey Barton.

First pointed out to me by Martha, it would seem that the Mags have signed a five year deal with Manchester City for their cancerous midfielder; the man who continually makes a mockery of himself and the one who has a great love of cigars: Joey Barton.

I was thinking, how bad could this guy really be? Maybe there is a way to give him the benefit of the doubt and look at him as a player who over stayed his welcome at City. But then I started to read his rap sheet and look into his family history. I came to a realization that the Mags made one of the worst deals in quite awhile. Joey Barton is a cancerous player that reeks of malcontent and hatred. What was the management thinking signing Barton? OK so you had to make room for Scott Parker, but why trade for this guy?

It would seem that Barton is making an effort to change his image, or at least play to the media so that more people will like him. According to thisislondon Barton was quoted as saying,

It is disappointing that people have a certain opinion of me but I meet countless people who, in all aspects of my life, will testify ‘you’re not the person you’re made out to be’.

“At certain times I don’t do myself any favours with incidents but to make out I’m some kind of yob, some kind of psychopath for want of a better word, is so far from the truth it’s unreal.”

This sounds to me like a desperate player looking to make another pay check, while at the same time guarding his ego. For 5.5 million pounds the management could have done a better job than singing Barton, or at least could have looked for a player that would fit into the system. Now let me tell you I have been used to troubled players, just look at the mistake Chivas USA made bringing in Amado Guevara. Understandably, Guevara was not as volatile as Barton, however, Guevara was successful in bringing the entire team down.

We shall see what happens with Barton. Maybe he has learned his lesson and will now try to fit in. Yet I would not hold my breath, as he has proven to be a very unstable player throughout his career.

More to come.
